Automated Summary of Grades for Grades 4–11 | Three-Term SY 2026–2027

With the implementation of the three-term school calendar and the revised assessment and grading policies beginning School Year 2026–2027, teachers and class advisers need updated tools for consolidating learner grades across the entire school year.

To help make this task easier, we are sharing Automated Summary of Grades Excel Templates for Grades 4 to 11, including separate versions for the Grade 11 Academic Track and Grade 11 TechPro Track under the Strengthened Senior High School Curriculum.

These templates are designed to help teachers organize Term 1, Term 2, and Term 3 grades, automatically compute Final Grades and General Averages, display the appropriate performance descriptors, and assist in reviewing possible Academic Excellence Awardees.

Updated Grading Guidelines Under DepEd Order No. 15, s. 2026

On June 4, 2026, the Department of Education issued DepEd Order No. 015, s. 2026, titled Revised Guidelines on Classroom Assessment, Grading System, and Awards and Recognition for the K to 12 Basic Education Program. The guidelines apply to schools implementing the Revised K to 10 Curriculum and Strengthened Senior High School Curriculum beginning SY 2026–2027.

For learners under the numerical grading system, the Final Grade in a learning area is based on the Term Grades for the three terms. For Grades 4–10, the General Average is based on the learners’ Final Grades across their learning areas. For Senior High School or Key Stage 4, the General Average takes into account the equivalent units assigned to subjects.

The revised policy also uses the following qualitative descriptors for numerical grades:

• 90–100 – Advancing
• 80–89 – Benchmarking
• 75–79 – Connecting
• 65–74 – Developing
• 0–64 – Emerging

These descriptors are intended to provide more meaningful information about learner performance and the instructional support that may be needed.

The downloadable Summary of Grades templates automatically assign these descriptors based on the computed grade or average.

Academic Excellence Award Under the New Guidelines

DepEd Order No. 15, s. 2026 also revised the rules on academic recognition.

For learners in Grades 4 to 12, the Academic Excellence Award may be granted to learners who:

• obtain a General Average of at least 90;
• have no Final Grade below 80 in any learning area; and
• have no substantiated derogatory record or disciplinary case during the school year.

Qualified Academic Excellence Awardees are to be listed alphabetically rather than ranked as first, second, third, and so on.

The templates therefore include an Academic Excellence Awardee indicator to help advisers identify learners who meet the applicable academic thresholds.

However, this indicator should be treated as a support tool only. Official eligibility must still be validated by the school, including the learner’s official disciplinary records and other requirements under DepEd policy.

What about the Ranking column?

A Ranking column is included in the templates as an optional internal reference for teachers and advisers.

It is not intended to replace or modify the official award provisions of DepEd Order No. 15, s. 2026. For official Academic Excellence recognition, qualified learners should be presented alphabetically in accordance with the policy.

What’s Included in the Download?

Four versions of the Automated Summary of Grades are available.

1. Summary of Grades for Grades 4–6

This version is intended for learners in Key Stage 2 and includes the major learning areas applicable to Grades 4–6.

The workbook contains:

• editable school and class information;
• separate male and female learner lists;
• Term 1 Summary of Grades;
• Term 2 Summary of Grades;
• Term 3 Summary of Grades;
• automatic Final Grade computation;
• automatic General Average;
• automatic performance descriptor;
• optional class ranking;
• Academic Excellence Awardee indicator;
• MAPEH with Music and Arts and PE and Health components; and
• an option to hide the MAPEH component average in the Final Grade sheet when needed.

For every learning area, the Final Grade is automatically computed from the learner’s grades for Term 1, Term 2, and Term 3.

2. Summary of Grades for Grades 7–10

The Junior High School version follows the same three-term structure but uses learning areas appropriate for Grades 7–10, including:

• Filipino;
• English;
• Mathematics;
• Science;
• Araling Panlipunan;
• Values Education;
• TLE; and
• MAPEH.

It also automatically provides:

• Term Average;
• Final Grade;
• General Average;
• learner performance descriptor;
• optional ranking; and
• Academic Excellence Awardee indicator.

This makes the file useful for class advisers who need one consolidated view of learner performance instead of manually combining grades from three separate terms.

Grade 11 and the Strengthened Senior High School Curriculum

Grade 11 requires a different approach because of the implementation of the Strengthened Senior High School Curriculum under DepEd Order No. 017, s. 2026, also issued on June 4, 2026.

The Strengthened SHS Curriculum streamlines Senior High School and organizes subjects around Core Subjects, Academic Electives, and Technical-Professional or TechPro Electives. DepEd’s curriculum materials describe the redesigned program as having two major pathways: Academic and Tech-Pro.

Subsequent DepEd clarification on the implementation of DO 17 specifies that core subjects are delivered across the three terms, while Academic and TechPro electives have different instructional-hour requirements depending on their classification. Core Subjects require 160 instructional hours across three terms, while Grade 11 TechPro electives require 320 hours across the three terms.

Because of these differences, we prepared separate Grade 11 templates for Academic and TechPro learners.

3. Grade 11 Summary of Grades – Academic Track

The Academic Track version includes a configurable Subject Offerings section.

Teachers or advisers can specify:

• the actual Academic Elective name;
• a short subject name or code;
• the term in which the elective is offered; and
• its corresponding units.

The workbook includes the Strengthened SHS Core Subjects such as:

• Effective Communication / Mabisang Komunikasyon;
• General Mathematics;
• General Science;
• Life and Career Skills; and
• Pag-aaral ng Kasaysayan at Lipunang Pilipino.

Academic Electives can then be assigned according to the school’s actual Grade 11 offerings.

The file automatically organizes the subjects that should appear during Term 1, Term 2, and Term 3, calculates the applicable units, and consolidates them in the Final Grade sheet.

More importantly, the Grade 11 General Average is computed using the units assigned to the subjects, rather than simply treating every subject as having an identical weight.

The workbook also contains a field for confirming whether the learner has a qualifying disciplinary record, helping advisers review the complete Academic Excellence criteria more carefully.

4. Grade 11 Summary of Grades – TechPro Track

A separate workbook is provided for Grade 11 learners under the TechPro Track.

It retains the Strengthened SHS Core Subjects while providing configurable fields for the school’s actual TechPro Elective.

The template automatically handles:

• Core Subjects offered across the three terms;
• TechPro Elective configuration;
• subject codes;
• units per term;
• total Grade 11 units;
• Term Grades;
• Final Grades;
• unit-weighted General Average;
• performance descriptors;
• optional ranking;
• Academic Excellence Awardee indicator; and
• disciplinary-record confirmation for award review.

This is especially helpful because the TechPro curriculum has a different elective structure and instructional load from the Academic Track.

How to Use the Templates

Start with the Input Data, Information, or Masterlist sheet, depending on the version you downloaded.

Enter the required school information and learner names first. For the Grade 11 versions, configure the school’s actual Academic or TechPro elective offerings before entering grades.

Afterward, encode the official Term Grades in their corresponding Term sheets.

The workbook will handle the remaining computations automatically, including the Final Grades, General Average, descriptors, ranking reference, and applicable Academic Excellence indicators.

Always review the completed report before printing or using the results for official school records.

They are not official DepEd-issued forms and should not replace school-level validation, official school records, or instructions subsequently issued by the Department of Education, Regional Office, Schools Division Office, or school administration.

If DepEd releases additional clarifications or amendments affecting grading, awards, subject units, or the Strengthened Senior High School Curriculum, the templates may also require corresponding updates.
